Fire Commission Releases Volunteers

On Friday, May 31, 2024 at a special meeting Commissioner Dave Persell made a motion to sever ties with all existing volunteers for MCFD 12. The Commission Chair, Trina Young, seconded the motion and opened the floor to public comments. Public support was apparent and the motion was carried. This is but one more step towards repairing the district’s fire department. At the May 15th Special Meeting associates from the district’s insurance brokers stated that no insurance company would cover this district unless all personnel, including volunteers, were disassociated from the fire department.
